General Class Information
Beginning Sewing
This class is for students who have little or no sewing experience. Students will receive an overview of fabric terms, tools and notions. Students will learn the different features on the sewing machine and get practice using the machine.The class lasts about 4 hours, and students will complete a project by the end of class. All materials are included. Instruction is given in groups or on an individual basis. **$18/hour**
Beginning Quilting Class
Students learn the basics of quilting in this class. They will learn how to use the rotary cutter and quilt ruler to make accurate cuts as well as accurate piecing, squaring up blocks and correct pressing/ironing. The class is taught through the making of a complete quilt top. Students must provide their own fabric and thread. This is a 12 hour class to be taken in 3-4 sessions. **$18/hr**
Twister Class
This class is for quilters who are able to keep a consistent 1/4" seam allowance. By the end of the class time, students will have made a table topper (top only) using the Twister template. Students must provide 1 charm pack of fabric. Class fee includes a Twister template, 1/2 yard of fabric and 6 hours of sewing. **$123**
Long Arm Quilting
The long arm class is the preparation for our long arm rental. Here you will get an understanding of how to use the long arm quilting machine in addition to getting practice quilting different beginner patterns in different ways. Your class fee includes 4.5 hours of one-on-one lesson and a practice quilt sandwich. These lessons are offered based on long arm availability and your schedule. **$110**
Binding and Finishing Your Quilt
There are a million ways to bind your quilt, but do you know how to bind on the machine so that no one can tell where your binding starts and ends? Students will learn this technique during this 3 hour class. Students must provide one fat quarter sandwich (ask for details). Your class fee includes class time, a binding tool and fabric. **$70**
Foundation Paper Piecing (Intro)
Students will learn this technique through the creation of a seasonal mug rug. Quilt block patterns vary from month to month. Your class fee includes 3 hours of sewing time and all materials needed to make the project. **$60**
T-Shirt Quilting
T-Shirt quilts have become a very popular project. This class teaches how to work with the shirts and create a t-shirt pillow. All techniques learned during this class can be applied toward making a quilt. Students must provide 2 t-shirts and a bag of polyfil. Your class fee includes 4 hours of sewing time, interfacing. **$75**
Jaybird Hex N More Class
My new favorite tool is the Jaybird Hex N More ruler. Come to learn how to use this very versatile tool to make quilt blocks that finish in a hexagon shape without sewing any Y-seams. The class includes 3 hours of sewing and the Hex N More ruler. **$80**
Free Motion Quilting
Learn the basics to quilting your quilt on your domestic machine at home. Students will bring to class one fat quarter quilt sandwich and are welcome to use our machines for this class, but will need a quilting/darning foot and steady/extension table for their machine at home. You will receive 3 hours of instruction time with this class. **$54**
Sew Kind of Wonderful Quick Curve Ruler Class
Sewing curves can be daunting, but the Sew Kind of Wonderful technique makes it easy! Learn how to make quilt blocks using SKW's innovative Quick Curve Ruler. The class lasts 2 hours and includes the ruler. **$60**
Individual Projects
Students always have the opportunity to come in for extra help with completing their own project. These instructional times allow for one-on-one sewing help and are offered based on your schedule. **$18/hour**
