Custom  Quilting

One thing that sets A Needle N Thread apart from other quilt shops is our custom quilting services.

If you have a vision for a quilt project but don’t have the time or ability to make it yourself, let us make it for you start to finish! You chose the fabrics and the pattern, and we’ll do the cutting, piecing, quilting and binding for you.

Additionally, we have a long arm machine in the shop to finish your quilts with that last touch of something special. Just pick out the backing, batting, thread color, and quilting design, and we’ll do the hard part for you.

I take such joy in adding a little bit of love to every quilt I create. If you’re interested in having a quilt custom made and long armed, come visit us in the shop, or contact me with the phone/email down below.

Common Quilting Questions

  • So glad you asked! At A Needle N Thread we’re here to work with you and completely customize this project to fit your needs. We’ll talk about your vision, the fabrics, pattern, and other materials you want to use (whether they’re from my shop or you bring them in.) If you’re interested in a fully long-armed quilt as well, we can talk about what design you want, panto or custom, and the thread color, batting fabric, etc. Reach out to us in person or by phone/email, we’d love to chat with you about a future project!

  • At our shop custom really means custom. If you want to split the work, we will fill in any point of the quilting process that you need us to.

If you want us to long arm after you do the piecing, work with us! If you need help with the earlier steps but want to back and bind the quilt yourself, we’re ready to help! Custom quilting is primarily charged by the hour, so we’re open to adapting to your needs.

  • Long Arming is the process of quilting through the top, batting, and backing of your quilt… and it’s my personal favorite part of the quilting process :). These quilting designs can be pantographs or customized, but this differs from quilting on a domestic machine in that the quilt is stationery on the frame while the machine moves.

  • As of right now we are not offering machine rentals, however this may change in the future. Please keep in mind if you intend to rent the long arm machine you’d have to take a Long Arm Certification class with me prior to being able to rent.

  • Yes we love quilt repairs! Sometimes quilts are passed down through loved ones, but the years of use have worn them down a bit. To treasure the meaning behind these quilts but increase their longevity, we offer quilt repair services. From patching holes to mending embroidery, let us know how we can help you revive those old, loved quilts.

P.S. Do keep on mind that some quilts are unfortunately beyond repair, but we’d love to talk about the possibilities.
